Kevin Pietersen - Get thee behind me satan Indian Premier League

79917275

Kevin Pietersen is once again stepping up his efforts to prove himself to be the most English person in the whole world by today stating that he is not interested in the Indian Premier League.  The former South African has said that no amount of money will tempt him away from the Three Lions of England.

"I love playing for England," the ball-clobberer said today, as a perfectly formed tear rolled down his cheek, "I love playing for the spectators. England has given me a fantastic opportunity to a fantastic life at the moment. So I'm fully committed 100% to playing for England, to winning games for England, to scoring thousands more runs for England. I love playing for England and there will be nothing that will lure me away from England just yet."

He then ripped off his shirt, climbed on the desk, sang Jerusalem then punched a foreigner - probably his dad.

Is KP to be admired for this, or is he perhaps cynically hoping to win over the remaining few of the England public who believe he shouldn't be playing for the team?  Let me know what you think.

Everything KP has done for years indicates that he really does want to play for England as much as possible. We shouldn't look for cynicism where there isn't any.

The odd thing is, Kev said he had various 'approaches' about this IPL thingy.. There may have been 'approaches' by the postman or the milkman, but they were not by the IPL. Loti says lots of English cricketers approached him, but..The point about the IPL was that it was open to all to throw their hat in the ring. No one was 'approached'..

It's hard to compete with those venal, skeevy hearted Australian and SA and NZ and SriLankan etc cricketers, those greedy unpatriotic scramblers on the teary-eyed stuff. And it's been a constant theme with English cricketers for a while now. Ali Cook laid on his mothers grave and declaimed the same, almost word for word, etc.. I dips me lid to the highly publicised John Bullishness, it's ... well. it's *sniff*.. just *sob* real over-the-trenches,-boys stuff.

Bwahahahaha! Brilliant! I just noticed how decidedly "English" he's sounding. Not a "posh" British accent, either . . . Not easy to lose your South African accent and sound like a Brit in a hurry - and then "flip-flop" on all the issues. But, if flip-flopping is enough for Barack Obama, it's good enough for the South African . . . oooops . . . British captain of England!
