Performance of the Day
Whilst Show Pony Dhoni's beautifully paced chasing down of the Bangla Boys' 250 nearly made the PotD (and required the Trumpet to begin what might be a large helping of humble pie should he start to play as he should instead of how he wants) and Robert Key's fine form continued - why not a mention of the porky player amidst the Shah love-in this week - the PotD goes to Darren Gough.
Why? Everyone knows that behind his bluff Barnsley Lad act, he is as canny a bowler as has trodden this Isle's lawns for a generation - so you can take it for granted that he'll get the most out of his bowlers. Booger me if he hasn't gone and galvanised the Yorkshire batting sufficiently for today's line-up to be averaging a collective 564! Who would bet against the Dazzler bringing another Championship to the Broad Acres?
