Performance of the Day
Younis Khan made a play for a second consecutive Performance of the Day award, this time with his little used leg-spin as Yorkshire failed to get over the line against Hampshire for whom Stuart Clark resisted for nearly an hour to secure an unaustralian draw, but there is only one real contender today - Phil Frost.
Who he? The man responsible for the Taunton strip which delivered an opening Championship game in which 1649 runs were scored for the loss of 13 wickets and a second match finishing today which yielded 1640 runs for the loss of 22 wickets. Some might complain that such pitches make for one-sided cricket, but it's the job of batsmen to build innings and bowlers to work them out - at 400 runs per day, there's plenty in the wicket for those who play smart and hard.
Ireland's bowlers won't be looking forward to Mr Langer and co on Sunday. [The Tooting Trumpet]
