Meet the Writers: Lee Calvert
I am the editor of The Googly, a position I gained through a combination of luck, cheek and an inability to keep my opinions to myself. I have been writing on the internet for a number of years, on subjects ranging from Coronation Street and rugby to The X Factor. I finally managed to get paid for my ramblings in January '07 - a development which pleased and confused me in equal measure. I have always loved cricket and it is something of a wonder to spend a significant portion of my day writing about it.
In my spare time I do a proper job and play drums in a band.
Favourite cricketer: Neil Fairbrother
Best cricket moment: Hitting overseas pro, Aftab, for a six over midwicket in a 1994 league match
Worst cricket moment: Aftab laughing as his next-ball yorker ripped middle and leg out of the ground.
