Woolmer death shrouded in mystery
The Jamaican police are still treating the death of Bob Woolmer as "suspicious". It is now four days since the tragic incident that followed Pakistan's defeat at the hands of Ireland, and two days since the official post-mortem yet we have been furnished with no details.
The longer this lack of clarity goes on the more likely it is that the conspiracy theorists will salivate at their collectively inadequate mouths and start to invent fantastic and lurid stories. This is a terrible situation for the family of a man who conducted himself with such quiet dignity in life, and we can but hope there is a resolution soon. I am sure the Jamaican police are doing all they can, but for Woolmer's widow Gill, who wishes to lay her husband to rest, the current time must feel like purgatory. [lee calvert]
